Help Us Start 2016 On Strong Footing!

Dear Friends and patrons,
Between now and December 31st, the Englert needs to raise $60,000 to ensure that Iowa City’s oldest theatre begins 2016 on strong footing. As the incoming Englert Board President and a Friend of the Englert I wanted to share the top 3 reasons I support the Englert, in hopes that you’ll join me in making a year end gift:
1. The Englert is a nonprofit performing arts center. Ticket sales only cover a portion of the expenses.
2. The Englert is a cultural icon that anchors the downtown area to Iowa City’s history – and funding the maintenance of historic landmarks like the Englert is a great investment in the city and in the arts.
3. The Englert Theatre brings shows to our region that might otherwise only play a bigger city several hours away. Iowa City “punches above its weight” when it comes to the quality of entertainment the city draws from out-of-town, and that’s part of Iowa City’s identity. Spend less on out-of-town hotels, and more on great shows here. Let’s keep it that way.
