The Englert Names Arts Advocate Cat Dooley As New Senior Marketing Manager

Posted on October 28, 2025 by Paige Samek

The Englert Theatre is pleased to announce the promotion of Cat Dooley to Senior Marketing Manager. A University of Iowa alum and dedicated arts advocate, Dooley has been an active contributor to the Iowa City arts community and The Englert’s creative team since 2023.

Dooley first joined The Englert as a Marketing Intern in January 2023, quickly proving herself as a creative and community-focused storyteller. After graduating from the University of Iowa in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Cinema and a Certificate in Public Digital Arts, she was promoted to Marketing Coordinator that same year. Her leadership and artistic insight led to another promotion to Marketing Manager in the summer of 2025 before being named Senior Marketing Manager this fall.

“From Track Zero to the Iowa City Songwriter’s Festival, Cat has been an integral part of our creative team in promoting dynamic programming at The Englert and throughout Iowa City,” says Keegan Colletta Huckfeldt, the Englert’s Interim Executive Director. “She is a dynamic photographer and a strong and innovative leader who is constantly thinking outside the box, finding new ways to reach our community. I am so excited to continue working with her and making our theatre and community the greatest small city for the arts!”

During her time at The Englert, Dooley has played a key role in theatre-wide marketing initiatives, including the organization’s rebrand and website redesign, Track Zero campaign, and visual documentation of major events such as the Mission Creek Festival (2023–2025) and the Iowa City Songwriter Festival (2025). Her distinctive photographic work has helped shape the visual identity of The Englert’s festivals, live events and enhanced the organization’s social media presence.

“Cat is a true arts person, and her dedication to this community shines in the work she does and the passion she brings into the building every day,” says Brian Johannesen, The Englert’s Programming Director.

Outside of The Englert, Dooley continues to be a vibrant force in Iowa’s music and arts scene. She has served as a staff photographer for 80/35 and Hinterland Staff Services, and regularly photographs for the IC Flea and local bands in Iowa City, including Mars Hojilla. A passionate multidisciplinary artist, Dooley also enjoys DJing and exploring new intersections of sound and visual media.

“I’m thrilled to continue growing with The Englert and serve a community I have been so supported by the last few years,” says Cat Dooley, The Englert’s Senior Marketing Manager. “I’m grateful to work with such a talented team and continue bringing meaningful events to Iowa City!”
