Iowa City Songwriters Festival is all about community and craft. An Iowa Tribute to Todd Snider is an event to bring the community together to celebrate one of the masters of the songwriting craft. Todd Snider is the patron saint of the outsiders. A frequent visitor to Iowa City, Todd’s wit and insightfulness, his storytelling and community building, and his undeniable talent with a pen, embodies the spirit of Iowa City Songwriters Festival. Sadly, Todd passed away at the end of 2025, so we wanted to take a moment to honor his legacy the best way we know how – on stage and with each other. Join us and a killer house band comprised of Brian Cooper, Ryan Bernemann, Randall Davis, and Dave Zollo, who is a former bandmate of Todd’s. The night will feature a slew of Iowa City songwriters with their takes on their favorite Todd songs.

Special Guests joining the stage: Alex Fletcher & Max Lipnick, Anthony Worden, Brian Johannesen, Connar Moon, Dave Helmer, Dave Zollo, Deb Talan, Jeffrey C. Capps, Katie Roche, Marc Janssen, Marcy Rosenbaum, Nicole & Benj Upchurch, Sam Knutson, Wes Shirley, and Win Miranda F.

All proceeds will go towards the Iowa City Songwriters Festival Scholarship Program which aims to give emerging songwriters of all walks the time, space, and education to dive deeper into their craft without barriers.
