David Huckfelt is a singer/ lyricist / activist whose performances and songs of no-spiritual-surrender have earned him a devoted following from small-town opera houses & theaters to national festival stages like Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Edmonton and Calgary Folk Fests, and the legendary First Avenue mainroom. An Iowa native and former theology student, Huckfelt weaves story, song, poetry, grit and grace together with improvisational mastery, sharing stages with artists as diverse as Mavis Staples, Emmylou Harris, Bon Iver, Gregory Alan Isakov, Trampled By Turtles & more. An early encounter and collaboration with legendary Native American poet John Trudell introduced Huckfelt as friend & partner to an array of Indigenous artists & activists including Keith Secola, Louise Erdrich, & Quiltman. He also served as both director and performer at the “Water Is Life” Music + Resistance festivals in Duluth, MN with Ani Difranco, The Indigo Girls, and his music appears in the ground-breaking television show “Dark Winds” on AMC. His new record “I Was Born, But…” is a record of other artist’s songs & was released in January 2026, with a new record of all original material set for late 2026.
Jeremy Ylvisaker is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, teacher, video artist who has worked with John Prine, Bon Iver, Grace Potter, Bruce Hornsby, Jenny Lewis, Andrew Bird, Sandra Bernhard, Damo Suzuki (Can), Anais Mitchell (Hadestown), Gaelynn Lea (MacBeth on Broadway), Prince’s original New Power Generation members in tribute after he passed, Mouse on Mars, Aida Shahghasemi, Swamp Dogg, Shahzad Ismaily, Eyedea, Merce Cunningham dance company, and many others playing in venues such as the Sydney Opera House and Carnegie Hall and on television programs such as Late Night with David Letterman and The Colbert Report. He has put out 2 solo records as well several as a member of the group Alpha Consumer.
David & Jeremy’s new duo work preserves a rugged optimism that blasts through layers of dark in real time with songs that speak volumes, soft & clear.
Dustin Busch is an Iowa born & bred guitar virtuoso, with an uncanny intuition towards the heart of folksong, improvisation, and grassroots grace in performance and composition. He grew up playing with Iowa legends Dave Moore, Joe Price, Al Murphy & more – and has the ability to make time stand still in the quiet rooms where he makes his rare solo performances come to life.
