Dan Padley, a talented guitarist and composer hailing from Iowa City, brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the trio. With a background in jazz, ambience, americana, and film music, Dan’s original compositions add depth and richness to the Freegrass repertoire.

Tara McGovern, a fiddler with deep Irish roots and a classical and jazz education from The University of Iowa, infuses the group’s music with her unique style and passion for storytelling through her instrument. Fiddling is not just a skill for Tara – it’s a family tradition that spans generations and continents.

Blake Shaw, a skilled double bassist and vocalist, rounds out the trio with his impressive musical background and innovative approach to arranging familiar tunes in fresh, exciting ways.
