Great Plains Action Society’s 9th annual Truthsgiving celebration will be on stage at The Englert this year with Audiopharmacy and guest speakers V Fixmer-Oraiz – Johnson County Supervisor, Joe Maxwell – U of I Native American Student Association & The Iowa City Free Fridge Organizers. The event will be hosted by Jessica Engelking, Marie Krebs, and Dave Whiting. Truthsgiving is a celebration that rejects the colonial myth behind Thanksgiving that perpetuates dangerous stereotypes and whitewashed history. It is a time to hear truth from speakers about current issues and celebrate truth with music, song, and dance.
