Volunteer with Us
Our volunteers play a crucial role in the success of The Englert. If you want to contribute to a community effort in a fun-filled, creative atmosphere, sign up to volunteer with us today!
There are many ways that volunteers can participate at The Englert! Our most popular roles are ushering and street teaming.
Ushers
Ushers support our event staff at shows by greeting patrons, scanning tickets, helping with wayfinding, handing out playbills, and more. By ushering an event, you get the perk of watching the show for free!
Street Team
Our street team volunteers help out the marketing department by delivering and hanging up posters throughout nearby businesses, public buildings, and other local hotspots. Not only can you get valuable experience for your resume, but you can also get free tickets to Englert shows and cool merch for your time.
We also have specialty volunteer opportunities during our annual festivals! Check back in early 2025 for details on how to volunteer for Mission Creek Festival.
No prior experience is necessary to volunteer with us! But please note that this work is best suited for individuals who are comfortable interacting with new people and enjoy lively environments.

Questions about volunteering? Reach out to us anytime at volunteer@englert.org.
We ask that volunteers be at least 16 years of age. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis based on the following criteria: The show or event must be appropriate for the age of the child, a parent or guardian must volunteer along with the child, and the child must demonstrate a level of maturity appropriate for volunteering. For questions, contact volunteer@englert.org.
For ushering, we ask you to wear a white top, black bottoms, and comfortable, dark shoes. You will be provided a name tag at the theatre to wear during your volunteer shift.
Street team volunteers should dress in comfortable, weather-appropriate attire, as the work involves a lot of walking around outside.
Other positions may have a dress code depending on the role, and specifics will be provided by your supervisor.
Training and orientation will be provided when you arrive at the theatre for your shift. Because of this, we ask that you be early or on time for your assignment. A supervisor will also be readily available throughout your shift to help you with questions or any situations you may be unfamiliar with.
If you are a new volunteer, we will ask you to sign a volunteer contract stating that you will serve to the best of your ability.
If you aren’t on it already, email volunteer@englert.org to be added to our volunteer newsletter. We communicate slots for volunteering each month on a first-come, first-serve basis.
