The Englert is proud to announce that Dan Cronin, the inaugural Englert Theatre Nonfiction Fellow, will read as part of the onstage Intimate at the Englert Series live on Friday, April 19 at 7 p.m.

Dan Cronin is a third year MFA Candidate in the UI Nonfiction Writing Program. Before Iowa, Dan worked in online media, TV, and documentary film in New York and Los Angeles. As a student, he was elected Student Ambassador of the Nonfiction Writing Program and he co-hosts Anthology, a reading series featuring writers from the NWP, Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and Literary Translation program. A gay Eagle Scout from the suburbs of Chicago, Dan writes about the American culture wars and Midwestern angst. His work has been published by South Side Weekly and The Rumpus.

About the Englert Theatre Nonfiction Fellowship:
The fellowship is designed to support one writer studying in the UI Nonfiction Writing Program who will attend Englert events and produce work inspired by their experiences. The fellow will publish one full work or excerpt in our playbill magazine, Stages, and present one public reading and talk. In addition to free attendance to Englert events, the fellow will also receive an honorarium and an open seat at MERGE Iowa City to work near the theater.
