Join Black Lives Matter at School – Iowa to celebrate teaching the truth!

Join us as we celebrate teaching the truth in Iowa at our Ethnic Studies Leadership Academy Graduation! Community members are welcome to donate or attend to celebrate with us!

Dr. Denisha Jones, J.D. will join us as our keynote speaker. She will discuss the power of teaching the truth in Johnson County and beyond.

We selected Johnson County as a historic site as it was named after Dr. Lulu Johnson, the first woman in the state to earn a PhD. Join us as we honor Dr. Johnson and the Black youth graduating from the Ethnic Studies Leadership Academy.

This event is one of the many events taking place across the country in June to honor #teachtruth.

During this event, we will celebrate teaching the truth and excellence in Black education inclusive of our Ethnic Studies Leadership Academy, Banned Books and HBCUs. Community members are welcome to attend to celebrate with us!
