Girls Rock! Iowa City is a local non-profit that makes space in music for female, trans and non-binary youth by creating programming that emphasizes teamwork, self-expression and empowerment. Their end-of-camp showcase is the result of a week of hard work by 39 campers aged 8-14, whose original songs will tell you all you need to know about growing up, speaking out, and cats.
Come see our 2019 Girls Rock! Iowa City campers play their original songs on the big stage. Nine camper bands will play nine brand-new songs, written during camp week in a process that fosters teamwork, self-expression and confidence. Come show support for young female, trans and non-binary artists in your community!
This event has been generously sponsored by our friends at The Tuesday Agency, who worked together with The Englert Theatre to make sure that all proceeds will go back into our programming, so that camp will continue to be available and accessible to all families.
