Description

November Startup Stories is a discussion for University of Iowa students and community members, where four panelists will tell their startup story. Presenters will share advice, provide tips on how to get started and spend time one-on-one with select students. David Hensley, Executive Director of John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, will be emceeing the discussion. Our guests of honor include:

Sheldon Ohringer, Co-founder/Retired CEO of Caleris and Partner at Formation Partners and Mango Seed Investment Fund.
With more than 30 years’ experience in business, Sheldon is best known as a Telecommunication Entrepreneur and veteran executive of both the telecommunications and internet services industry. Sheldon co-founded, served as CEO, and successfully sold Caleris, Inc. an outsourced technology and customer services helpdesk company, in 2014

Don Schoen, Founder and CEO of Bettrlife
Don started BettrLife in 2010, focusing his company toward nutrition and activity for clients with chronic and acute medical conditions. The BettrLife product is currently being implemented within a major medical institution as a pilot program.

Laura Westercamp, Management Consulting Senior Manager at Accenture
Laura primarily focuses on life sciences companies, concentrating in commercial services and supply chain strategy. She has extensive experience working internationally in Europe and Africa. She has focused on growing Accenture’s footprint at biotechnology companies, as well as in the predictive health analytics and emerging markets. Prior to consulting, Laura worked in public sector investment banking in New York at Goldman Sachs.

Duane Wilson, Founder of The Spirit of Philanthropy
Duane Wilson currently has many career endeavors in the Chicago, Illinois area. Wilson is a Professional Voice Actor. Duane Wilson is a Founder of HumaniFi, LLC, an Adjunct Faculty member of Entrepreneurship and Management at Columbia College of Chicago, a Manager of Accelerator and Strategy Consultant at Goodcity, a Founder and Spokesperson at The Spirit of Philanthropy, and involved in Business Development at JAYNE Films.
