When we’re young, it’s easy to be amazed. As we get older, experiences of wonder and astonishment become harder and harder to find. Magician Nate Staniforth shares his lifelong search for amazement—a journey that began in Iowa as a young boy when he learned to make a coin disappear and has led to thousands of theaters and auditoriums around the world in the years since. Nate talks about his travels through India to track down an ancient tribe of traditional Indian street magicians who have passed their secrets from generation to generation for over three thousand years, and explores the conflict between the universal allure of the unknown and our impulse to explain everything. At the end, he’ll perform a few of his original creations and take questions from the audience.
For the last ten years Nate has brought his live show to colleges and universities across the United States, performing for over 30,000 people each year. Additionally, Nate is a founding member of Band of Magicians, an ensemble magic show that debuted at the Sydney Festival in 2014 and enjoyed five-start reviews and a sold-out run in both Sydney and Melbourne.
