Description

“If the story is about a house fire, the interesting part is not that the house caught on fire. It’s what did you choose to grab first.” – Peter Aguero

Peter Aguero was born and raised in Southern New Jersey and currently makes his home in Queens. He’s a Moth GrandSLAM champion, regular host of Moth shows, and an instructor for the MothSHOP community program. Fulfilling the dreams of no one, he appeared shirtless on Late Night With Conan O’Brien multiple times. He’s also the lead singer of The BTK Band – an improvised storytelling rock band that performs regularly in NYC. He hosts, produces, and performs in burlesque shows all over town, testing the patience of his long-suffering (and very beautiful) wife.

Sara Peters is a journalist and sportswriter who covers cybersecurity for Dark Reading and the New York Knicks for Bleacher Report. Born and raised in New Jersey, she now makes her home in Queens with her ridiculous husband.

About The Green Room:
How does one community get smarter…
Employ that knowledge to uplift the lives of its residents…
Join with other cities and towns across the country…
And collectively change the world?

If you’re interested in finding answers to these questions, join us this fall for The Green Room, a University of Iowa Honors Program course and community-wide educational experiment open to all residents of Iowa City.

Taught by David Lynn Gould, The Green Room will meet at 7 p.m. on select Monday nights in August through October at The Englert Theatre. Find your community, share your thoughts, and join us for this one-of-a-kind, multi-dimensional learning experience. This event series is FREE and open to the public.
